Why I Became a Financial Advisor

Why I Became a Financial Advisor

July 18, 2016

I’ve never met a person who hasn’t played or heard of Monopoly. I remember vividly playing the board game as a child with friends and family. I didn’t just love the game for the fun of it; I was also fascinated by how money works and how people build wealth.

Outside of the game, I witnessed financial ramifications when family members and close relatives didn’t plan accordingly for the inevitable issues most of us will eventually face. I saw just how much a lack of financial knowledge could impact even the smartest people I knew, and I realized that this was a common issue many families faced.

It was then that I was inspired to pursue a career where I could educate people on how to prepare for their financial future and help them avoid the pitfalls that come with procrastination and inaction. I studied finance in college and started my career in 1998 as an intern with Northwestern Mutual, where I eventually worked as a financial representative for nearly 15 years before joining Foster Klima & Company. The rest, as they say, is history.

Who I Serve

Today, I have almost two decades of experience under my belt and my commitment to helping others grows stronger every day. While I serve a broad range of people, I specialize in working with affluent professionals, executives, and business owners with high integrity and who care about their business, family, and community. They’ve worked hard to get to where they are today and want to make a positive impact in their life and the lives of others. Whether they’re young in their career or approaching retirement, they seek comprehensive and lifelong financial guidance as they travel through life’s many milestones.

Working closely alongside them, I take a genuine, empathetic, and open-minded interest in their life because I want to see them succeed. I care about their goals and concerns and strive to provide the dependable and trustworthy service that they deserve. Whatever their questions or needs, I bring a personal touch to the planning process in the hopes that I can help them feel more at ease and less stressed about their finances. I’m not just providing financial advice; the real benefit of my work is helping my clients pursue a life with fewer worries, more clarity, and greater financial flexibility.
